My First Dance

I WENT TO MY FIRST DANCE LAST NIGHT!!

Single Girl had to work at a 7th/8th grade dance and I would not let her out the door without me. I had to go.

The music was AWESOME. The lighting, AWESOME. And all of the new friends that I made...I can't even count!

I mostly just sat and watched, but I did get on the dance floor for the Cha Cha Slide. I'm still singing it...Right Foot Stomp....

Single Girl said that for the whole night...the 5th/6th grade had some activities too....she sold 5 24 packs of soda!  Those kids were thirsty.

Just keep dancing!!

Almost Swept Away

Our walk today was INSANE!! The winds by the "bathtub" are around 50 mph, but we decided to go there anyway.
We couldn't go our one way down the beach, so we went up.  It started out just like any walk. We walked into the wind, the waves were crazy crashing, and there was another dead fish!  The cool part about this dead fish was that most of it's bones were sticking out.  So....I rubbed myself along it's backbone and had a great massage!!  Single Girl was mad at first...then noticed how much I liked it and let me do it until I was done.

When we were on our way back, out of nowhere, came a H.U.G.E. wave and pulled me in. I went in and Single Girl got wet up to her knees! Where it came from...I have no idea! I'm just thankful that Single Girl had me hooked up or I would be swimmin' with the fishies!!

We finished our walk soaking wet and dodging waves...but what an adventure.
I now come to you from infront of a fireplace...sweating.
Life is good.

Fish and Turtle

Quite and adventrue on our walk today. Single Girl and I were walking by "the big bath tub" when I saw a big fish. This fish was just lying there. Dead. I wasn't scared. I went right up to it...sniffed it...WOW...did it stink!

Kept walking...another dead fish.

Kept walking...another dead fish.  The crazy part...none of these fish were little...they were twice as long as I am. (And I'm over 15 inches.)

When we were on our way back I noticed a different type of smell. I went up closer...a little baby turtle. He was trying so hard to get to the water..but just wasn't getting there. I pointed him out to Single Girl and she picked him up and put him in the water. Well, the poor thing was soooo little that the water tossed, turned, flipped, and twisted him for minutes and eventually put him back on the beach.

Single Girl decided to pick him up and was going to bring him home with us.  Well, as we were walking she found an inlet and decided to place him in there. He seemed to be doing ok as we left.  Just keep swimming little buddy!!!

Many Changes

So it's been almost a month and a half since my last entry and wow have there been changes to my life. I am so sorry to my loyal readers for the absense: adjusting to our new life is brain draining.

Since my last entry:

*Single Girl has a month and a half in at her new job. She REALLY likes it. She comes home every day telling me that she is starting to grow on the students (not sure exactly what that means...) and that she has super support.

*We stayed with Sara and the bunnies for awhile and are so thankful to them for hosting us. One thing I can tell you about living in a condo is that the family next door always had my attention and I wanted to participate in their fun. I voiced my opinion about that constantly!! I like the quiet of a house better. But without Sara and the bunnies, the first month of transition would not have worked.

*After staying with them, Single Girl was offered the use of a cottage right by a big bath tub. (She calls it "the beach" or "Lake Michigan") I just know that it is a great quiet place with no loud high-pitched noises driving by. Single Girl says that we will be here until we can find a nice place of our own.  I just know that if I could stay here...I would.

*I spent a week at my BFF, Maggie's, house for a week. Single Girl wasn't going to be home at night so I got to have a mini reunion.  It was sooo much fun. Miss ya Maggs.

*I met a nice guy, Dr. Getson, who helped me get rid of a tick. Single Girl found the tick and tried to take it out....well, she got the body and half of the head...enter Dr. Getson.  He was super nice and told me that I could come back every day because I'm sooo good!  I might have to talk to Single Girl about that seeing that there seemed to be tons of smells that I still need to check out there.

*Yesterday I spent the day with Single Girl and some of her students at her school. We were doing a Metal Recycle Drive.  There were lots of loud crashes and stuff, but the kids that I met were super nice and made me forget that I was out in the wind all day.  I hope that I get to see them again.

*Single Girl wants me to let you all know that she is fine and if anyone would like to come and help with laundry or dishes she would love it.

Hope all is well with all of my readers.  I PROMISE to not have so much time pass before my next entry.

P.S.   If you ever go out for a walk by the big bath tub...watch out for the water...it sneeks up on you.  Scary.
